InvestorLift homepage: white hero, search field and two phones, one with a map of price pins

InvestorLift

The leading wholesale marketplace

Took: two plain doors, and deals as points on a map, which became our whole hero.

Broke: the AI-matching pitch and "#1". Before launch, we claim nothing we can't show.

BiggerPockets homepage: sign-up form beside a photo of friends on a pier

BiggerPockets

The investor community

Took: its life: people, colour and momentum, where buyers already gather.

Broke: posed stock. Our people photo is a documentary porch handshake.

Xome homepage: search beside a red clapboard house

Xome

Auction marketplace

Took: real houses and plain deal types, set inside our deal cards.

Broke: the house as the hero, and the roof-chevron logo.

How we got to the map.

Two rounds. The first was correct and too quiet. The second found the life in it.

The gap

Nobody names the contract, shows the time left on it, or shows the checks behind "verified". That's where Trova stands.

Round 1, rejected

Two quiet directions, The Paper and The Floor. KG: Neither of these directions feels like they have any life in them, especially looking at some of the other competitors like BiggerPockets, Privy, Investorlift, and Xome.

Round 2, the map

Ten first screens. KG chose the live deal map with the Both Sides wordmark: I like the idea of showing the map. Then ten icons, and the keyhole pin: Lets go with 12 for now.

  • I1, corner pin
  • I2, keyhole pin, chosen
  • I3, roofline disc
  • I4, lit lot
  • I5, two halves
  • I6, bookmark house
  • I7, spotted
  • I8, route
  • I9, arch window
  • I10, pin rose

The ten icons drawn in round 2. The keyhole pin, I2, is lit.

Every deal on the map, with its paper behind it.

The position: the only marketplace that shows the paper behind every deal, because it trades the assignment itself and has no stake in the money. Escrow wording pending Tzachi

Waiting on Tzachi

  • Escrow. "Escrow partners hold the money" stays out of public copy until he settles the escrow model (PRD §15, question 3).
  • Fees and plans. The fee model, and which plan features are real.
  • Launch. Which states Trova opens in.
